SAIC has unveiled the new second generation MG 6. The article presents the characteristics and parameters of the liftback.

The new version of this model has retained its original structure and shape. However, the second generation MG 6 is significantly larger than previous models. The vehicle is 4695 mm long and 1848 mm wide. The only difference is that the second generation MG 6 has a reduced height and is 1462 mm. The wheelbase of the liftback is 2715 mm.

The exterior of the car resembles the style of the subcompact crossover of the same company MG ZS, presented last year. In addition, the second generation MG 6 is equipped with multi-link rear suspension and MacPherson struts.

The second generation MG 6, in terms of the interior as a whole, repeats the style of the cars of the previous versions. A distinctive feature is the presence of a modern multimedia complex from the manufacturer Zebra. Features include voice control, interactive maps and internet access, while the second generation MG 6 features a two-tone leather interior and carbon-styled inlays. Also, the second generation MG 6 has a set of safety systems, as well as systems that serve to make driving easier and more comfortable. First of all, it is a system of exchange rate stability, parking brake, engine start by pressing a button, as well as a Bluetooth module.

The second generation MG 6 is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine with 169 horsepower. This four-cylinder turbocharged engine is combined with a six-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed robotic gearbox with 2 clutches. As for the previous 1.8L engine, it is no longer in production and will not be available for the second MG 6.

At the moment there is no information about the sales of the liftback in the European market. Now the second generation MG 6 is presented only in the Chinese version, which should soon go on sale in China. In Britain, as you know, the production of this series was closed back in 2016, and it is not known whether the second generation MG 6 will be sold in the territory or not.
